We are OPEN! We are so excited to finally share what this new chapter entails. For starters, our new vision for Rx is a more casual one. The new Rx menu will look different and we have a new name:

BIG NEWS

WE HAVE SOME VERY

Rx Chicken & Oysters

Some classic Rx menu items, like our chili cheeseburger and our pimento cheese appetizer will be daily menu items, and some other Rx favorites will appear here and there as specials. Most of you know by now we are farming our own oysters, called "Lucy Beas" and our own clams, and a major focus will be on local seafood. We're also highlighting one of our all-time best sellers, our fried chicken, and you can always expect to see seasonal, organic vegetables from your favorite local farmers. We think there is something for everyone on our new menu and we're excited to share it!

LUCY BEAS

AND THE START OF OUR SEAFOOD OPERATION

In June 2022 we officially started our own oyster farm with leases in Stump Sound and Topsail Sound. We’re calling our oysters “Lucy Beas,” named after our favorite salt water lovers: our pups. We will continue to feature other farmed and wild caught oysters as well, but we’re excited to add our Lucy Beas to the lineup!

LIONFISH

AND THE EXPANSION OF OUR SEAFOOD JOURNEY

In addition to starting the oyster farm, we have also obtained our commercial fishing and dealer’s licenses for Rx, meaning we are officially able to serve you fish that we catch and spear ourselves. We are predominantly going after underutilized species and specifically targeting lionfish: an invasive but delicious species that are destroying our reefs and decimating our local fish populations, like grouper and snapper.

You’ll also continue to see other sustainably caught NC fish on our menu, whether it’s caught by us or other fishermen. We’re happy to be able to contribute to our environment and to NC fisheries in a positive way by targeting a truly tasty fish. Save our seas and protect our fisheries: eat lionfish!

Rx BREWSTILLERY

AND WHAT'S TO COME

In addition to the above changes we will also be expanding into the house next door to Rx in the future! In it, we’ll be adding a brewing and distilling operation (the Rx Brewstillery) with a small tasting room, where we’ll make beer and spirits the Rx way, focusing on local and high quality ingredients. That will be something to look forward to in 2024. In the meantime, we will begin featuring some small brewing and distilling projects created in-house at Rx. You’ll still see some of your other beloved local beers and spirits on our shelves, but we can’t wait to add our own to the lineup!

Thanks again for all of your support. We're so excited to serve you again!
